Story

Shared record of presence

Trace begins with a simple idea:
what if people around the world could each leave a single, intentional mark on the planet?
Every point on the map represents a chosen coordinate - a small but deliberate act of presence.
Individually, these marks are quiet and minimal. Together, they form something larger: a collective record of people who existed in this moment of time.
Trace is not about ownership of land or territory.
It is about acknowledging that we were here - and leaving a small, permanent reference to that presence.
As more points are recorded, the map slowly transforms into a living imprint of human participation across the Earth.

Archive sequence

History of humanityOne card.
Millions of marks.

Scroll through the card like a curated product reveal: the front metadata steps forward one field at a time, the card turns to reveal a large centered QR, and the lower legal footer lands last before the final stacked composition settles in.
This card is designed as a digital artifact, not just a receipt. It ties a person, a place, and a date into one clean object that feels ceremonial and precise. The upper fields behave like archival metadata, while the center image gives the piece emotional weight. As more people claim their location, the collection grows into a visual census of presence. Each entry remains personal on its own, but stronger when seen as part of a larger human pattern. The goal is to make memory feel premium, deliberate, and worthy of being kept.

How it works

A Shaded Mark in Time

Trace is a collective project built from millions of small, individual choices.
Each pixel represents a person who decided to leave a simple record of presence on Earth.

It is not about ownership of land or territory.
It is a symbolic coordinate — a place connected to a message, a moment, or a name.

Over time, these points will form a living map of human presence:
a quiet archive created by people from all parts of the world.

Anyone can explore the map, discover messages left by others, and locate any recorded point through its coordinates or QR code.
